3 Ways to Reduce Clutter and Decorate your Home with Baskets
By Mary, Lover of DIY Home Projects
I'm a collector of baskets. There. I said it. I love all the shapes and sizes and textures. I especially love how versatile they are in a home.
If you’re looking for an easy way to add a bit of interest to your home, add a few baskets. I’m going to walk you through three ways to style baskets in your home. It’s easy. They makes a big impact. They also help reduce clutter.
1. Plant Basket
A basket looks great with a plant in it. If you don’t have a green thumb, don’t worry. Faux plants have come a long way lately and look great in a home. Greenery is a great way to liven up your home!
Placing a tall tree in a basket, like this round jute woven basket, and placing it in a corner of your home adds some texture and color to your home. Alternatively, you could place a smaller plant in a basket on an end table.
2. Entryway Catch-All Basket
A basket is a great solution to lost keys and cluttered entryways. Place a basket on a table, bench or floor by your entryway. Throw your keys and other miscellaneous items in it. Then you’ll always know where to find your items and you’ll reduce clutter in your home.
This cute round basket adds some interest and functionality to my entryway.
3. Toys Basket
If you have younger children, I am 99.9% sure that you struggle to manage toy clutter. Baskets are a great way to control the clutter and decorate your home at the same time. Place one in your living room and have your children throw toys in there at the end of the day. Then have your children take the basket of toys to their rooms, putting the toys away for the day.
Alternatively, you could also place a basket in your children’s rooms to store toys. This will help reduce the clutter and the likelihood of you stepping on cars and stuffed animals when you try to walk in their rooms.
Still Not Convinced?
It’s okay. We don’t all have to like baskets. All the more for me!
